An informative guide to taking your sex life to a deeper level

You are about to embark on your most provocative and life-enriching journey yet in the deep and complex world of sexuality.
She mentions every sex guru in the land who has made a career out of enlightening and awakening budding lovers everywhere; with concise points; the good, and bad, and ultimately important parts of each “sex school” are given, as well as helpful links to podcasts, texts, videos, and other compelling media works to explore as well. No stone left unturned, as they say; a lot of special attention is directed at the Tantric arts, but there is just about everything covered to appeal to a wide and diverse audience with a certain level of maturity and wisdom to make their heightened sexual awareness a priority in life. An excellent book that will help us be more comfortable and open to learning about our sexuality

So many different sex schools! Just the phrase "sex schools" may seem strange to most American readers as it did for me. Most men I know will say they learned about sex on the street, learned about it in the small bits of pornography they felt privileged to see when no adults were around, or maybe late night TV when parents were presumed to be asleep. Maybe we had an anxious "birds and bees" talk from our parents, more likely we had the tales told by our slightly older classmates and friends.
Most of us arrive at adulthood with so much wrong information and so many misconceptions. So often these begin to crystalize early in our sex lives, even before our first sexual experiences, and are hard to change ... especially when it’s even hard to talk about. I certainly know this as a clinical psychologist working with couples.
For many of us just reading Yella’s book will be a valuable exercise in trying to not be so up-tight about sex. We can agree or disagree with her values, but we can at least get more comfortable with the conversation, our choices, and our selves.
Beyond the very important coming-to-comfort, this book brings a vast outline of the different “sex schools." Yella summarizes and contrasts them very effectively, with tremendous knowledge which brings to light the various underlying concepts. OK, you might not care so much about the details of these schools, but I think getting a grasp of these underlying ideas is very helpful in our thinking about our own experiences, perspectives, and desires for personal growth.
People enjoy and appreciate a glass of wine so much more with knowledge about what makes wines different and unique. Maybe it’s the same with sex! She very appropriately refers to it as the "Gourmet Guide."

`I was over the moon that I was able to turn a topic like sexuality into my profession!'

German author Yella Cremer has traveled the world collecting wisdom and knowledge about love, sexuality and relationships, including but not limited to psychology of sex, tantra, tantric massage, shamanic sex, slow sex, OM and BDSM. During her amazing journey she attended over 100 sex workshops. She took all of her knowledge and decided to run a tantric massage center where she and a team of 14 women and men educated men, women and couples how to deepen their sexual experience and how to communicate through touch. This center was run for seven years and then she decided to share her knowledge in other ways so she could help as many people as possible. In 2012 she founded the LoveBase in Berlin, which is transforming now into an online sex school. Yella is now a leading expert in the field of sex education in Germany. Her open, fresh and direct approach sends a deep permission to every sexual being to be ok exactly as they are.
We get Yella's approach from her opening statements in this revised version of the original book: `There is one thing you and I have in common to begin with: We're both interested in sex. To me, sexuality is an important part of life and a vital source of strength for our very existence. If we feel good sexually, we are balanced and able to realize our ideas and projects. In my opinion, our prejudices, judgments and blockages are the only thing keeping us from fully enjoying sexuality. Most of us have grown up in an environment that doesn't necessarily support sexual development. Sexuality is charged with shame and many aspects of it get condemned. That however doesn't mean it doesn't exist, it just means the picture is often distorted. Information about sex is also often distorted - depending on the source. In this age of the Internet & Co the variety of information is often confusing. Much of it has an expensive price tag and promises ultimate fulfillment of our longings - but rarely lives up to that promise.' `I am interested in the wholeness of sex, body, mind and emotions. I've read a lot of material that covers only one of those aspects but still yields many jewels. I can appreciate those jewels because I keep integrating them into a bigger system due to my training. I like systems that touch upon body, mind and soul. I enjoy looking into spiritual systems as long as they don't want all my money or fail to respect my free will. Everything that feels good is good. Everything that feels bad is not good, no matter how great it is in theory. But "bad" must not be confused with feeling sad, angry, or similar emotions which might be due to past experiences.
